[in the morning, Viktor will get a message that's probably not meant for him.]

[ Viktor was stretching, waiting for Yuuri and the Zumba crowd to arrive, when he gets this message. And he has a moment of "wait, what" before, well, using his translation app because he totally assumes it's an Agency thing. And when he sees what it says, he's even more confused!

...That's when he checks who sent it.

He chuckles in relief and automatically types a response into the translator. Then he copies the translation and sends it back. ]

OK, ich werde warten! Ich bin neugierig. Aber lass uns auf Englisch reden 🙏🙏🙏

[her phone beeps, and when she reads the message, she's downright baffled as to why there's emojis and a request for English, until she looks up.

christ. this is embarrassing.]

forgive me, the signal must have done something. you're not the one that was meant for, in truth, but i'm surprised you responded in kind.

Getting a text like that is unusual! so I couldn't pass up the chance to reply like that. Anyway I didn't mind so don't worry about it

seeing your name reminds me that i got busy and forgot to follow up on the idea of lessons - i should mend that today.

usually saturdays are the day to sleep in, i'm not too proud to admit that.

because if you say that, inevitably some morning person is going to come along and talk about how much of the day you're missing and suggest to "go to bed earlier". as if that fixes things!

they really do. i'd ignore and mute them, but unfortunately some of them i just have to play nice with.

i don't think there's much etiquette to start off with when a stranger gets my text i meant for my father.

mine prefers to call, but when i'm busy, i text back to let him know i saw.

i suppose you aren't entirely a stranger now, though, since you're someone i definitely wouldn't mind hearing more from.

What do you do, by the way?

[moment of truth, really. it never was something she could predict, when people asked what she did.]

i'm a medical examiner, actually. i work for the city in that capacity.

[viktorymaker]

[ Oh, that's an interesting job! But it also makes him think of things he doesn't want to think about. Like some memories. And his private investigator job. Which he's been neglecting. A lot. A fact that might also get him in trouble if he doesn't do anything about it soon.

Anyway, he's blocking that train of thought like yesterday. He's curious about Grell's job, though. ]

Wow, that sounds busy! Is it? You're the first person I meet who does that

it depends on what you define as busy. i don't see as many people as a doctor who works in a clinic, but there's more than enough to keep a person fully occupied for the whole of her shift. a lot of the time it's much more mundane than television makes it out to be, but i wouldn't deny it's work that requires you to think.

you've got the more glamorous job by far. i've always admired those who could dance well.

Dancing also seems a lot more glamorous than it actually is! But I still wouldn't change it for anything 😘

[ He hesitates before writing the next message, but he figures he might as well mention it now. ]

I do have another job though! Well, I like to call it a hobby, since it's not my main source of income, but I take it seriously

[he must be quite the busy person to juggle his dance and something on the side, but it might be a passion project.]
